Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using CampusLink, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app. We may update these terms at any time. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use CampusLink. By registering, you confirm that you are 18 or older and that all information you provide is accurate and truthful. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that provide false information.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You must not share your account with anyone. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you suspect unauthorised access, contact us immediately at support@campuslink.co.ke.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: impersonate another person; upload photos of someone else without their consent; harass, threaten, or abuse other users; use the app for commercial solicitation or spam; attempt to bypass any technical restrictions; or use the app for any unlawful purpose. Violations may result in immediate account termination.

5. Profile Content

You are solely responsible for the content you post on CampusLink, including photos, bio, and messages. By uploading content, you grant CampusLink a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display that content within the app. You must only upload photos of yourself. Fake or misleading profiles are strictly prohibited.

6. Photo Verification

CampusLink uses AI-assisted photo verification to confirm that profile photos contain a real human face. Photos that are rejected by verification will be deleted. Verified status does not guarantee the identity of a user beyond what our system checks.

7. Identity Verification

The identity verification feature uses your selfie to confirm you match your profile photo. Verification is free and voluntary. A verified badge improves trust but does not constitute a background check or guarantee of any kind.

8. Subscriptions and Payments

CampusLink offers paid plans (Campus Plus at Ksh 349/month) and add-ons (boosts, unlocks). Payments are processed via PesaPal. Subscriptions are billed monthly. We do not offer refunds for unused portions of a subscription period. The student plan provides a 90-day free trial upon verification of a valid student ID.

9. Boosts

Purchasing a boost temporarily increases the visibility of your profile in Discover and Radar. Boosts are non-refundable once activated. Free users are subject to a 24-hour cooldown between boosts. Campus Plus subscribers have no cooldown.

10. Radar and Location

Radar shows nearby users based on GPS location or your registered city. Location data is used only within the app to show proximity and is not shared with third parties. You may deny location permission at any time from your device settings.

11. Matching and Messaging

Two users must mutually like each other to form a match. Only matched users can exchange messages. We do not monitor private messages except where reported for abuse. Report concerns using the in-app feedback feature.

12. Privacy

Your use of CampusLink is governed by our Privacy Policy, available at campuslink.co.ke/privacy. By using the app, you agree to the collection and use of your data as described in that policy.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violating these terms, without notice. You may delete your own account at any time from Profile → Settings → Delete Account. Deletion is permanent and removes all your data within 24 hours.

14. Disclaimer of Warranties

CampusLink is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free. We are not responsible for any harm arising from connections made through the app. Users meet and interact at their own risk.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Kenyan law, CampusLink shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months prior to the claim.

16. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Nairobi, Kenya.
